AUGUST 16, 2017 – FED BY THE RAVENS – (2)

And the word of the Lord came unto him saying, get thee hence and turn thee eastward and hide thyself by the Brook Cherith that is before Jordan. And it shall be that, thou shall drink of the brook and I have commanded the ravens to feed thee there. – 1 Kings 17: 3, 4  Elijah obeyed God and went to the brook of Cherith, not reasoning what the outcome might eventually be. God delights in our total obedience to His commands and promises. He is happy when we trust Him unwavering without any iota of doubt.  Here again,...

AUGUST 14, 2017 – FED BY THE RAVENS – (1)

The ravens brought him bread and meat in the morning and bread and meat in the evening, and he drank from the brook. – 1 Kings 17:6 It is still unthinkable how mere Ravens (birds) can be an instrument of economic supply in a time of famine. We might think of other possible means of provision, but Ravens? Surely not, it is unimaginable. The land of Israel was in a terrible famine by the word of the prophet of God; Elijah. The land was dry, no sight of green leaves for animals to graze on, and the rivers were...

AUGUST 07, 2017 – YOU ARE WORK IN PROGRESS.

Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus. Philippians 1:6 Driving through that smooth beautiful long road, I almost could not recollect the true state of the road before this breath-taking transformation took place on it. It was previously rough, dirty, muddy with broken caterpillars littered all over the place. It was so bad that, vehicles were being diverted to avoid getting plunged inside the mud. Motorists hated that road, I personally disliked the sight of it, and each time I get...

JULY 31, 2017 – Jesus: Our Model

The one who says he abides in Jesus ought himself to walk in the same manner as He walked. 1 John 2:6 Modeling our lifestyle after someone implies portraying the characteristics of the individual. As Christians, our standard model is Jesus Christ. Therefore, being a Christian means being Christ-like, that is, living out the lifestyle of Jesus. The word Christian was first mentioned in Antioch when Paul the apostle and other disciples of Jesus were preaching the gospel. There, the disciples were called Christians because; their lifestyle and general characteristics represented that of our Lord Jesus. As they preached the gospel and embarked on their daily businesses, the life of Christ was seen in them. Most times, we can say that a child’s attributes and mannerism depicts that of his father or his mentor. This is so because; the child had carefully emulated his father or mentor’s lifestyle as the case may be. On the other hand, a tree is known by the fruits it bears. We can differentiate one tree from another not necessarily by its leaves but; by its fruits. A mango tree cannot bear an apple fruit neither would a lion give birth to a puppy. As much as it is with nature; so it is with the life we live as Christians. However, it is quite unfortunate that some believers need to introduce their identity...

JULY 28, 2017 – LORD; LET YOUR WILL BE DONE.

Father, if you are willing, take this cup from me; yet not my will, but yours be done. Luke 22:42 Jesus on the Cross of Calvary wished that the cup of death will pass Him by; seeing the great pains that lied ahead. Looking up to heaven, He nevertheless cried out; not mine will, but your will be done. Giving way for God’s will to be done in our lives is absolutely a bitter pill to swallow. It is easier most times to profess it or wish it could happen, but the glaring reality of carrying it out is...
