Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer. Romans 12:12
Rejoicing in hope? How can anyone do that? you might ask yourself. There are such times that, we might think, taking things up ourselves is the best way to go, than adhering to the principles in the word of God. The word of God stands against our human reasoning and do just the opposite of what the carnal mind suggests.
Rejoicing in hope means, being happy and thankful while waiting patiently for God to fulfill His promises in your life. it connotes peace, rest and faith. It implies that, instead of complaining, murmuring or grumbling, you sit back and praise God in the hallway before the arrival of your promise – it will surely come.
Paul and Silas in Acts 16:16-40 sang praises to God while bond in chains. We might wonder what on earth was wrong with them. How can anyone be glad that he is in chains? That is the way of God, that is God’s principle for successfully going through depressing times – rejoicing in the midst of crisis.
When you rejoice in hope, you are releasing your faith into action that, God is too faithful to lie. Though it might be a bitter pill to swallow but, rejoicing in hope pleases God. There can be reasons for anxiety to set in once in awhile, just do not give up. God has not brought you this far to disappoint you, neither has He forgotten that you are still hopping on Him. There is a time He has appointed for you. When that time comes, He will settle you, but before then, keep rejoicing.
