He shall call upon me and I will answer him. I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him and honour him. Psalm 91:15

Psalm 91:15 is an embodiment of Gods faithfulness and a reflection of His consistent love towards every believer. It showcases the stages that God takes and abides with His children in their times of need or extreme challenge. He never leaves nor forsakes His own.

We will be analyzing the above bible verse in its chronological sequence. It is arranged in an ascending order which explores practically how God walks with His children, especially in times of difficulties. When you understand this orderliness and stages of Gods response to believers in times of need, you will be more inspired to rely on Him and trust His faithfulness.

HE SHALL CALL UPON ME AND I WILL ANSWER HIM.

The fatherly love of God is depicted in His overt readiness to listen and respond whenever we call unto Him. No caring father leaves his child unattended to – the same is true about our heavenly Father.  He listens and desires to hear His children reach out to Him again and again. The scriptures says Call unto me and I will answer you and show you great and mighty things which thou knowest not” (Jeremiah 33:3) God wants you to know that, He is available and ready to answer you when you call unto Him in prayer. Go ahead and pray, God is listening and He will answer you.

I WILL BE WITH HIM IN TROUBLE.

Right from the ancient times till date, God has proved His faithfulness in abiding with His believers whenever they encounter challenges or fall into troubles. Let us consider the case of Joseph. He had a God-given dream which devil wanted to terminate using his brothers as a tool to execute his plans. Joseph was so persecuted and hated yet, he never gave up. Why? Because God was with Him in those turbulent times. Daniel on the other hand, was persecuted for standing for righteousness. His trouble was so severe that, he was thrown into the den of hungry lions. Even at the face of death, he didn’t give up. Why? Because God was with him.

You see, when believers experiences challenges, God releases His grace to abide with them. That grace is a divine help; a divine enablement to do something one cannot ordinarily do on his/her own. Grace in times of difficulties cushions the pains and increases strength. It helps the believer to walk on a ragging storm. It gives the believer a divine oxygen to survive when others are panting for air. That a child of God is passing through challenges does not imply that God is against him/her. No, God knows the end from the beginning. He says in Isaiah 43:2 “When you pass through the waters, I will be with you”… in a similar vein, He says in Isaiah 41:10 “Fear not, for I am with thee. Do not be dismayed for I am your God…. So, if you are presently expiring a trying time, I want to assure you that, God is with you. He will not leave you.

I WILL DELIVER HIM

Deliverance belongs to God Almighty. God delivers His own from the incessant snares of the devil. The next stage of Gods response in times of challenges is deliverance. After releasing His grace for the believer to undergo the challenging situation, the next thing God does is to bring the person out of the problem. This is because, there are certain lessons God expects His children to learn, to enable them function effortlessly in their next stage of appointment. He also desires to show forth His power, thus, gaining the trust of His children.

I WILL HONOUR HIM

After Daniel was persecuted and God delivered him, he was honored and promoted. Similarly, Joseph was tried and tested, then he was promoted and honored in King Pharaoh’s Palace. In God’s order, problems precedes promotions. God is committed to honoring those who, steadfastly depends on Him and trusts His faithfulness.

Considering the sequences outlined above, on which level are you presently? Please note this; for every trouble you might have encountered as a child of God, God has a way of escape for you. His grace is sufficient for each step you take through life. He is more concerned to see you through, than you can even imagine. That is, when you pray, God will answer you. He will decorate you with grace and strength to trudge through the narrow paths, He will deliver you in the time appointed, and finally, God will honour and promote you accordingly. Look out for any circumstance recorded in the bible, you will notice that, they all follow this divinely arranged pattern.

Be encouraged.
