And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast. 1 Peter 5:10
“I was married for 4 years before I had my only son, but 2 years later, he was diagnosed with leukaemia; the same year we closed our business and were nearly declared bankrupt; that was during the recession. In spite of our situation, we had our extended family members to take care of; my mother in-law was also diagnosed of breast cancer. We had our hands full with so many challenges. My husband was completely shattered and it seemed it was the end of the world for him. It was at that point that I took charge and told my husband and each one in my family that no one was allowed to shed a tear and we had to accept it; we had to be POSITIVE and not treat my son as a cancer patient but treat him as a normal child and give him all the moral support to go through the chemotherapy.
All through his treatment we had such a joyous and happy normal environment, and in fact, he was able to overcome the illness. My son is now 17 years old; he is a smart, confident, positive and healthy guy. It took the entire family having a positive attitude and faith in God to overcome our challenges. Our financial situation has improved and we have a peaceful and happy home.”-A woman’s story
There is no tough situation we may be going through at the moment that God cannot see us through if we stay positive and strong. Maybe your marriage, relationship, finance, career, health or emotions are shattered and it seems as if no one cares, no one understands your plight. Right now you feel like you cannot make it through. Have you been wondering why God seems so far away and unwilling to respond to your call for help? Do you feel like quitting your faith or marriage because of tough times? Believe me, life is coloured with challenges; things that could affect our lives negatively are bound to happen at one point or the other but we must put our faith in God to see us through. He never promised us a life free from tribulations but He assured us to see us through it all. It might take a while, but He will surely prove Himself faithful in your life. Never forget that after the storm, comes the sunshine.
Always remember that tough times will not last always, it is only for a while. I have been through difficult situations that made me question the validity of my faith in God. However, He came through for me when I least expected it. I am confident that the same God will come to your aid as long as you keep your faith and trust in Him.
