Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9
All across the globe, the pressure of life is getting more intense while every possible hope of a better life is thinning away. People are facing battles here and there, both physical and emotional, nothing seems to be brightening up. As a result, many just live in hopelessness. Even believers are not left out in these hassles and brokenness, many ask; how can a loving God allow His children to face such difficult times? This is touchy really, but do know that, whatsoever it is that you are passing through presently, You are not Alone in it; God is right there with you.
There was a time Jesus was traveling with His disciples in a boat and there arose a storm, the disciples of Jesus were in a frenzy, they panicked and were sore afraid. They wondered why Jesus was silent about their predicament. The bible tells us in Mark 4:38 “And Jesus was in the hinder part of the ship, asleep on a pillow: and the disciples awake him, and say unto him, Master, carest thou not that we perish?” In the midst of that great storm, Jesus was calm and asleep for He knew that, He is greater than any ragging storm.
You see, there is a lesson to learn here. Despite the fact that Jesus Christ was in that boat, still, the storm arose against them. That you encounter challenges in life does not mean Jesus is no longer in your life, neither does it mean that you are out of favour with God. Sometimes, God might decide to allow some things to happen in your life to build your faith and teach you how to take charge and have dominion over situations that confronts you. This is so because, we learn more by being part of a thing than observing it from afar.
Let us view it from this angle, you are preparing to write a very tough exam that will move you to the next level in your career or academics, what will your earthly father do? Stop you from going through the stress of studying very hard because he love you and wouldn’t stand seeing you have sleepless nights? If he does that, I doubt if that is true love. In a similar way, that God is watching His children go through trails does not mean He care less about them.
When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they will not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned, and flame will not scorch you. – Isaiah 43:2.
The Holy Spirit is alive in every believer in Christ so, you are never alone. During trying times, The Holy Spirit strengthens, guides, comforts, teaches, leads and reveals unknown things to the heart of every believer. The question here is, are you conscious of His presence in your life and do you acknowledge Him in all you are passing through? God in His Omnipotence already knew that, times like this will come when believers will be faced with the vicissitudes of life hence the outpouring of The Holy Spirit. God knows that, human strength can only profit us a little but with His Spirit, we remain more than conquerors.
Many Christians have replaced the Holy Spirit in their lives with seeking prophecies, thereby they get more and more confused in their predicament. Please don’t misquote me, prophets are doing great work in their ministry but, they should never be sought after more than the Holy Spirit. Revive Gods Spirit in you by studying the word of God, meditating on the word of God and praying. When you do all these regularly and become conscious of The Holy Spirit, you can never get it wrong in life.
As the journey deepens and the way seems gloomy, I want to remind you that, you are not alone. You have God living inside you and He cares for you. When you get confused He will teach you what to do, when you are pained, He will comfort you, when there is a gang up against you, He will reveal it to you, when you need a friend to confide in, He will never disclose your secret to anyone. Don’t wallow in ignorance, you are not alone, God is with you.
